LTE Overview. Author: Magdalena Nohrborg, for 3GPP. LTE (Long Term Evolution) or the EUTRAN (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Access Network), introduced in 3GPP R8, is the access part of the Evolved Packet System (EPS).System Architecture Evolution. Jump to navigation Jump to search. System Architecture Evolution (SAE) is the core network architecture of 3GPP's LTE wireless communication standard. SAE is the evolution of the GPRS Core Network, with some differences: 3gpp lte system

LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and it was started as a project in 2004 by telecommunication body known as the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). SAE (System Architecture Evolution) is the corresponding evolution of the GPRS3G packet core network evolution. The term LTE is typically used to represent both LTE and SAE.

3GPP is a collaborative, systemlevel engineering effort, and thus, the 3GPP workflow and working procedures reflect this. Below (Figure 6) is a highlevel view of the 3GPP process where you will notice a lot of similarities to our analogy above. Figure 6: 3GPP working procedures and process. 3GPP standardization encompasses Radio Access Network, Services and Systems Aspects, and Core Network and Terminals. The project was established in December 1998 and should not be confused with 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 ( 3GPP2 ), which specifies standards for another 3G technology based on IS95 (CDMA), 3gpp lte system LTE system information SI1 transmitted every 80ms, SI2 every 160ms and SI3 every 320 ms. System Information Blocks are grouped in SI containers. Each SI is composed of multiple SIBs. Each SI usually will have different transmission frequency and will be sent in a single subframe. SIBs are transmitted using BCCH mapped on DLSCH which in turn mapped on
